Vigabatrin is a kind of anticonvulsant drug. It’s used mainly for treating tough-to-treat epilepsy and infantile spasms. It works by blocking this enzyme thing called GABA transaminase, which then raises GABA levels in the brain.
You can get Vigabatrin in two different kinds. There are 500 mg tablet ones and these powder packets. The doctor usually suggests taking 1 to 3 grams a day, and splitting the doses up.
The medication is in these bottles, and they usually have 100 tablets in each. Now, there are some side effects with Vigabatrin. It can cause unsteady walking, vision issues, and there’s a chance it might mess with your brain in the long run.
You’ve got to use it super careful and only when your doc says it’s okay.
