Belumosudil is used to treat cGVHD, which is a type of problem where your body’s immune system attacks transplanted cells. It’s a special kind of medicine called a ROCK2 inhibitor. This drug is meant to help cut down on the inflammation and scar tissue that come with cGVHD.
It comes as a pill, and each tablet is 200 mg coated with a special kind of film. You typically take it once a day at 200 mg and it’s best taken with some food. These come in bottles with 30 pills each.
You’re supposed to swallow the tablet whole, no biting or chewing allowed. You really need to follow your doctor’s orders and keep taking it even if you feel better, just in case stopping suddenly could do more harm than good. Some common side effects are things like feeling sick to your stomach and having the runs, but there could be others.
