Abrocitinib is used to treat moderate to severe eczema. It’s a JAK1 inhibitor that helps control the immune system. You can get it in tablets that come in 50, 100, or 200 mg doses.
For adults, the usual dose is 200 mg, taken every day. The tablets come in bottles with 30 pills each. Each tablet has just one strength.
It works by stopping a protein called JAK1, which is important in causing inflammation. This helps to cut down on symptoms like redness, rashes, and scaling. You’re supposed to take it by mouth, not break, chew, or crush it.
It’s not for kids or teens because there’s a risk of bad side effects and not enough info on how safe it is for them.
