Belzutifan is a type of inhibitor that goes after HIF-2, which is important in treating RCC linked to VHL. It works by cutting down on the signals that make tumors grow and spread. You take the medication in the form of tablets that have a coating and each tablet is 40 mg strong.
The usual amount to take is 120 mg, which means three tablets, and you do this every day. Each bottle has 90 tablets, which is enough for a month’s worth of the regular dose. It works by keeping HIF-2 from doing its thing, which in turn lessens the making of proteins that make cancer cells grow in low oxygen spots.
Belzutifan is one of those HIF-2 inhibitor drugs and it’s best taken with food so it can be absorbed better.
