Anagrelide is indicated for reducing blood platelet count in essential thrombocythemia (ET) to normal or near-normal levels in patients who experience or are at high risk of complications such as thrombotic or hemorrhagic events, especially at initial platelet count >=600 uFF2010^9/L. It works by slowing down the growth of cells that make platelets. You take Anagrelide in pill form, each pill is 0.5 milligrams.
You usually start with 0.5 mg four times a day. Your doc might tweak it to see how it works for you. There are some possible side effects like infections, especially if you’re not on antibiotic prevention.
There can be heart issues, skin reactions, fevers, coughs, achy joints and muscles, and a dip in your white cell count. Each bottle has 100 capsules of Anagrelide.
