Binimetinib is an inhibitor for melanoma with BRAF V600E/K mutations. It’s meant to be used with encorafenib too. It works by blocking something called MEK signaling, which is a big deal for cancer cell growth.
The pill form of this drug is 15 mg and it’s coated. You’re supposed to take 45 mg of this stuff twice a day, so that’s 30 mg each time. Each pill has 15 mg, so you need two to hit the 30 mg mark.
The pills come in bottles with 84 of them. The idea is to keep up the MEK inhibition, hoping to slow down the cancer’s spread. They’ve done studies on Binimetinib to see how well it works and if it’s safe for people with BRAF mutated melanoma.
