Larotrectinib is a therapy aimed at specific solid tumors with NTRK gene fusions. It’s made to keep three TRK protein receptors—TRKA, TRKB, and TRKC—from doing their thing, which in turn helps to slow down or stop cancer cells from growing. It’s okay to use it for treating grown-ups and kids with hard-to-remove or spread-out NTRK-fusion cancer.
The dose can change, depending on the person. For adults, it usually starts at 100 mg, taken twice a day. For kids, it’s based on how big they are.
You can get it in two types—either in capsules, 25 mg or 100 mg, or as a liquid that you drink, 20 mg in each spoonful. Each bottle comes with 60 capsules.
