Gefitinib is a targeted therapy for NSCLC. It’s used when there are certain genetic changes in the EGFR gene, like deletions in exon 19 or the L858R mutation in exon 21. The drug works by blocking the EGFR signaling pathway.
This pathway is key for cancer cells to grow and survive. It comes in tablets with a coating, each one has 250 mg of the main stuff. You’re supposed to take 250 mg of this stuff once a day, whether you eat or not.
Each bottle has 30 tablets, which should last you a month if you’re on the recommended dose.
