Tivozanib is a targeted therapy. It stops VEGFR, a thing that helps tumors grow by making new blood vessels. It’s mainly used to treat advanced kidney cancer, also known as RCC.
Tivozanib comes in two doses in capsules: 890 micrograms and 1.34 milligrams. The usual dose is 1.34 milligrams, taken every day for 21 days straight, then you take a break for 7 days. That’s one full cycle, and you’ll repeat it every 28 days.
You can take the capsules with or without eating. Each bottle has 21 capsules. During the cycle, you take the medicine for 21 days and then take a break for the next 7 days.
