This is Tucatinib, a tablet that blocks HER2. It’s mostly used for breast cancer patients who have those tricky brain spots where cancer likes to stick around. It works by stopping these HER2 messengers from doing their thing.
You’ve got two strengths of Tucatinib tablets: 50 mgs and 150 mgs. Ideally, you should have 300 mgs a day, split into two doses — that’s two tabs each time, or just one 150 mg and one 50 mg tab. And, try to take them with your meals.
So, to make up one dose, it’s usually one big 150 mg pill and one small 50 mg pill, or just two big ones, based on what your doc prescribed. Each Tucatinib bottle is packed with 60 tablets. Tucatinib is a rockstar at targeting these HER2-positive cancer cells and keeping them from growing and causing trouble, especially those brain metastases that can be a real pain.
