Venetoclax is a type of BCL-2 inhibitor. It’s used to treat two kinds of cancer: CLL and AML. It makes cancer cells die.
You can get this drug in three doses: 10 mg, 50 mg, and 100 mg, all in these coated tablets. For CLL, you’re supposed to take 400 mg a day after eating. It comes in bottles with 120 tablets, and you take it after eating.
Venetoclax is supposed to make cancer treatments work better by stopping a protein called BCL-2. This protein is usually too much in cancer cells and helps them live. You usually start with the 10 mg dose to avoid bad side effects.
If it’s okay, you might go up to 50 mg or 100 mg depending on how you handle the drug.
