This is Tivozanib, a VEGFR inhibitor. It’s used to treat advanced renal cell carcinoma, or RCC. It works by stopping something called angiogenesis.
This is like cutting off the tumor’s blood supply and slowing its growth. Tivozanib comes in two doses – 890 micrograms and 1.34 milligrams – both in capsule form. You’re supposed to take 1.34 milligrams every day for 21 days, then take a break for 7 days.
This makes up one whole cycle, which is 28 days. You can take Tivozanib with or without eating. It comes in bottles with 21 capsules each.
You keep going with the cycles as long as you’re doing well. But if you get worse or something bad happens, you’ll stop.
