Neratinib is a type of inhibitor that locks onto HER2, a protein that’s found in higher amounts in some cancers, especially breast cancer where HER2 is really high. It’s part of a group called kinase inhibitors, which stops certain enzymes from working and interrupts the signals that help cancer cells grow and live.Neratinib is in pill form with a coating that weighs 40 mg each, and you’re supposed to take it at 240 mg a day. They say to take that amount of the pill with food.
They make and sell it in packs with 180 pills in each one. This way of taking it is supposed to really stop those EGFR/HER2 pathways, like a roadblock, to slow down the cancer from growing.
