Gefitinib is an EGFR inhibitor. It’s used to treat non-small cell lung cancer. It’s especially effective for those with certain genetic mutations, like exon 19 deletions or the L858R mutation in exon 21.
It works by stopping EGFR signaling in its tracks. The drug comes as film-coated tablets, and each one is 250 mg strong. You’re supposed to take 250 mg a day, and it doesn’t matter if you take it with or without food.
You’ll find the med in bottles, each holding 30 pills.
