Fidaxomicin is a special antibiotic made to help treat Clostridioides difficile infections. It works by stopping the bacteria’s RNA from being made, which is key to stopping the germs that cause the infection from growing. You can get this drug as a 200 mg tablet with a coating.
The usual dose for treating C. difficile infection is 200 mg, taken twice a day for 10 days. Each bottle holds 20 of these tablets.
