Ponatinib is used to treat CML and Ph ALL, which are types of leukemia that haven’t responded to other kinase inhibitors. It blocks the BCR-ABL protein that helps these blood cancers grow. Ponatinib also hits on several other kinases, which can be a big help in treating resistant cases.
You can get Ponatinib in two doses: 15 mg and 45 mg, both in coated tablets. The usual dose is 45 mg, taken once a day, and it’s okay to take it with or without eating. It comes in bottles with 30 tablets each.
