Sotripentol is an anticonvulsant. It’s used for treating Dravet syndrome, often alongside other treatments. It works by boosting GABAergic transmission.
This helps to control seizure activity. Available in two strengths – 250 mg and 500 mg capsules the recommended dose is 50 mg/kg/day, to be taken in divided doses. These capsules come in bottles with 60 capsules in each one.
It works by aiming at the GABA receptors to up the inhibitory effects in the nervous system. This helps cut down how often and how bad seizures are in people with Dravet syndrome. Taking the capsules is great because it’s easy to adjust the dose based on the kid’s weight.
This makes the treatment really effective and good for their overall health.
