Venetoclax is mainly used to treat chronic lymphocytic leukemia and acute myeloid leukemia. It’s a BCL-2 inhibitor. It’s made to make cancer cells die.
You can get it in 10, 50, or 100 mg tablets. For CLL, you start with a low dose and gradually build up to 400 mg a day, and you take it with meals. Each bottle has 120 tablets.
Venetoclax is designed to zero in on and block the BCL-2 protein. This protein is key to keeping cancer cells alive, so by targeting it, the drug helps kill cancer cells without harming normal ones. The drug works by messing with the signals that keep cancer cells from dying off properly.
This is what lets them grow out of control.
