Vigabatrin is a medicine used to treat really tough epilepsy and something called infantile spasms. It works by stopping something called GABA transaminase, which helps raise the levels of GABA in your brain. You can get Vigabatrin in two forms: as 500 mg tablets or in a powder mix.
The doc usually suggests taking 1 to 3 grams a day, spread out over a few doses. Each pack comes with 100 tablets, which is really handy if you need a steady supply. You gotta stick to the doses your doc tells you to take so your seizures stay under control and you don’t have to deal with any unwanted side effects.
Be careful with the drinks if you’re on Vigabatrin, because it can make some side effects worse. You might need to get some liver tests if you’re taking this stuff for a long time, just to make sure it’s not hurting your liver.
